Restaurant Review - Iron Rooster, Annapolis MD

November 5, 2015
So, last night a bunch of MK publishers and I got to experience Iron Rooster for dinner! If you aren't sure what Iron Rooster is, its a restaurant in Downtown Annapolis that offers BREAKFAST ALL DAY, lunch, dinner and some awesome drinks! If you follow me on Twitter, you get an excellent opportunity to see all the delicious food we got to try.

First up were drinks! The restaurant has a wonderful selection of alcoholic beverages for you to try. Not only do they have a general wine and beer selection, they also have a list of cocktails. I decided to get the Iron Rooster Crush, which is made up of Thatcher's Organic Vodka, Thatchers Blood Orange Cordial, freshly squeezed OJ, topped off with Sprite. The drink itself was really good. The alcohol didn't overpower it and it had a really nice sweetness to it. If I wasn't driving home, I probably would have ordered 2 more!

For appetizers, the table split 2 - homemade pop tarts and the Happy Hour nachos. I probably could have eaten both dishes by myself and called it a meal. The pop tarts were nothing like the pre-packaged stuff! They were made from scratch, filled with either a brown sugar mixture or mixed berry and topped with a creamy icing. The Happy Hour Nachos were made with house made kettle chips, topped with all your favorite nacho fixins including fresh made guac and tortilla strips!

For dinner I opted to have the Breakfast Tacos. All day, I was trying to figure out if I wanted breakfast or dinner. I decided the tacos were the best of both worlds. The 3 flour tortillas were filled with scrambled eggs, pork belly, green chili salsa (just a little bit of spice), pico de gallo and queso fesco. Add a side of homemade home fries and I had the PERFECT dinner.

Dessert was as amazing as ever. I opted to go for the Flourless Hazelnut Chocolate Cake. I've never had a flourless cake before, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect. When it arrived it was plated beautifully and topped with whipped cream. The cake itself was very creamy and the texture reminded me of fudge. 3 bites in and I was stuffed! I couldn't eat any more. So the cake came home with me to enjoy later.

I HIGHLY recommend Iron Rooster. I loved that everything was from scratch, there is breakfast all day and that they even roast their own coffee! They are definitely kid friendly as well. It seemed there was something for everyone on their menu. The kids could have breakfast and you could enjoy a nice quality meal with them. The atmosphere in the restaurant completely exceeded my expectations - the staff was super friendly and made you feel right at home!

If you happen to go anytime soon, let me know what you think! =)
