1. Paint some rocks - have you ever heard of The Kindness Rocks Project? Its a wonderful project to help spread campaign and kindness throughout the world by people painting rocks and placing them throughout their community. Someone has started a "Calvert Rocks" group in our county. Check out their Facebook page to find out how you can get involved. 

2. Support the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department - by heading the the carnival. From August 8th - 12th at the old Calvert Middle School athletic field you can enjoy carnival rides, games and food all while supporting the local fire department. 

3. Go see a play, written by kids - The Twin Beach Players is hosting its 12th annual Kids Playwriting Festival. From August 4th - 13th you can head to a local theater to see plays written by kids. Tickets are $7 and details are on our calendar.

4. Spend the evening at the Calvert Marine Museum - FOR FREE! Almost every first Friday of the month, the Calvert Marine Museum hosts a "First Free Friday." The museum, lighthouse and shops are open from 5:00-8:00 pm on August 4th

5. Participate in National Night Out - August 1st is National Night Out all over the country. According to their website "National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances."
