It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and Hannukah and Kwanzaa...
I absolutely love this time of year in Southern Maryland. The holiday lights, the Christmas music, the way everyone I meet is in a festive spirit.
But most of all...I love all of the amazing holiday events this time of year. Our Southern Maryland families are blessed--there are so many events happening this month around the area that it made it SO HARD to pick just a few! (A good problem to have, I am aware)

Here are five fun things to do with your kids in Southern Maryland this week:
1. Attend a FREE holiday open house on Sunday, Dec. 4 like this one at St. Clement's Island Museum, where you will find lots of fun and festive activities for kids (and kids at heart!), refreshments, vintage dolls, model trains and so much more!
Or take your kids, even the furry ones, to get pictures with Santa while you enjoy getting some of that holiday shopping done at CAWL Joyful Paws 2022!
2. Take the kids to learn a timeless lesson about the importance of friendship and giving with Winnie the Pooh and the gang at the Arts Barn Saturday or Sunday afternoons in December.
3. Learn what 4-H club is all about at Calvert Library Southern Branch on Dec. 6 at this free intro meeting. Do some nifty crafts, make some new friends, and--most important--have fun!
4. Get in the holiday spirit by attending the 41st year of the Solomons Christmas Walk. Enjoy the sweet sounds of the carolers. Marvel at the beauty of the Lighted Boat Parade. Watch the talented dance performances and more! All of the festivities will culminate in the lighting of the Christmas Tree on the Gazebo. An afternoon of family enjoyment and festive fun.
5. Visit one of our amazing local libraries for one of the exciting storytimes, craft activities, or classes. Kids can even learn to use the 3D printer in the Charlotte Hall library!
