Summer Camp Guide - Updated!

Why should you send your child to summer camp? Summer camps are a great time for your kids to try new things, nurture unique interests, meet new friends, stretch their creativity, and have tons of summer fun! You're guaranteed to find something on this list of summer camps that your kid will be excited about!

Keep your student's mind engaged this summer with Mathnasium's summer camps.  They are offering two different, week-long, 3-hour camps for students in 1st through 8th grade.  Camps include STEM, Sony KOOV Robotics and Coding Camp.  Space is limited.

Get those awesome kids moving with a2o Fit's KidFit Summer Camps.  Their goal is to make fitness FUN with small workouts, outdoor adventures, water fun, fitness-related games, yoga and more.  Camps are offered June 21-25, July 12-16, August 2-6.

Horse camps that are offered at Vandermere Farm give campers an opportunity learn about horses, horsemanship, grooming and more.  There will be crafts, games and activities.  Campers can choose between half day or full day horse camps.

Summer Knights Camps at St. Mary's Ryken begin on June 21st and are in one week sessions that run from Monday to Thursday.  Some camps are full-day and others are half day.  Before and aftercare is available.  Camps are designed for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.  Featured camps include Beginning Sailing, Basketball, Cupcake Decorating, Field Hockey, Golf, Pins and Needles: Sewing Basics and Soccer.  For the full list and dates offered, please see their website.

Check out all the summer camps offered with St. Mary's County Recreation and Parks. Summer camps will be offered at Hollywood Recreation Center and at Carver Recreation Center for children ages 5-12.  Scholarships are available for those that qualify.  Camp themes include Olympics, Sports Skills and Drills, Fit and Tumble, Around the World and more.

Keep your kids busy with this camp at St. Mary's College of Maryland, designed to introduce your child to a variety of sports.  Your camper will learn about volleyball, soccer, tennis, flag football, floor hockey, basketball and more.  They will also have an opportunity to swim and rock climb.  This camp is offered July 12th to the 16th.  For more information, please see their website.

Seahawks Soccer Camp is held at St. Mary's College of Maryland and focuses on improving your child's soccer skills both technically and tactically.  This camp is offered for two weeks, the first session starts on June 21st and the second session starts June 28th.

Keep your kids moving this summer with Willows Recreation Center.  They are offering a variety of kids camps all summer long.  The camps are designed for kids ages 9-13.  They are offering special sport camps in basketball, lacrosse, volleyball and flag football.  Day camps and arts, crafts and learning options are available, too.

This horse camp will be a summer highlight for sure!  This is designed for both beginner and young riders, ages 5-14.  Daily riding lessons, arts and crafts, games and special guests during the week will add to this experience.  Learn about tack cleaning, the anatomy of the horse, show ring etiquette and horse treat baking!  Plus so much more.

The St. John's Summer Program starts on Monday, June 21st and runs until Friday, August 13th for kids ages 4 to 14.  Campers do not have to be members of the St. John's parish to participate in the camps.  Extended care is available.  Camp themes include basketball, cooking, dancing, app coding, art, tennis, scrapbooking, origami, Lego and many more.

The King's Christian Academy Summer Camp calendar is full of activities for kids ages 4 to 15 with camps themes from Star Wars to Fancy Nancy to Hot Wheels.  Sports camp for basketball, cheerleading, soccer, volleyball and more.  There are nine weeks of fun! Each week will offer Wet & Wild Wednesdays, Scientific Thursdays with new experiments and a reading time each day.

Master Shim's Black Belt Academy offers summer camp from June 21st to September 3rd, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm with before and aftercare offered.  Campers will improve their technique, build self-confidence, learn self-discipline and have fun.  Family discount is available and no martial arts experience is required.

Summer should be spent on the water and the kids SUP (stand up paddle boarding) camp is the perfect way to enjoy the season.  The campers will learn water safety and proper SUP technique.  Camps run from 9 am to 12 pm, starting on June 21st.  These camps are designed for kids 10 years and older.  Registration is open now so don't delay your registration.

Camps at Greenwell State park will keep your camper busy while making new friends and having new adventures.  The first week of camp starts on June 21st and runs through the summer for eight weeks.  Campers can choose between Horse Camp, Nature Explorers and Fishing Camp.  Extended care is available for an addition fee.

Calvert Marine Museum is offering summer camps in a hybrid schedule this summer.  These four day camps will offer two days of in-person activities and two days of camp fun virtually.  Virtual days will be using activity kits provided by CMM containing materials for each of the week's theme.
